Anges Québec Grows Its Membership and Announces Funding for Anomalous Networks along with the BlackBerry Partners Fund

logoMontréal, December 14, 2010 – Anges Quebec, the renowned network of Quebec Angel investors, has grown its membership to 60 angels.

Anges Quebec also announces a sixth investment, this time in Anomalous Networks, with the participation of Magaly Charbonneau and the BlackBerry Partners Fund.

The BlackBerry Partners Fund specializes in investing in mobile applications that are designed for smartphone use. Anomalous Networks is the innovator and leader in real-time telecom expense management solutions.

Anomalous Networks’ solutions allow enterprises to control and reduce their telecom expenses on smartphone and mobile broadband solutions. Their two solutions – Intelicost and Telicost – offer enterprises real time monitoring on their device usage, and will send the users pop up alerts as they use up their plan limits, thus avoiding “Bill shock.” Both users and enterprises will benefit from saving between 20-60% on their telecom budgets, and prevent surprises on their monthly carrier bills.

Magaly Charbonneau’s participation in Anomalous Networks’ investment attests the arrival of young successful entrepreneurs representing the new generation of Anges Québec’s investors. Mrs. Charbonneau was President of MD international in Ontario before investing in Hostopia.com in 1999 where she also worked as Vice President Sales. After having contributed to growth and sale of Hostopia to Deluxe Corporation in 2008, she became a professional Angel investor and member of the Anges Québec team.

Ms. Charbonneau says: “I am pleased to be working with teams of Anomalous’ stature. My collaboration with Anges Quebec allows me to get involved with the new wave of entrepreneurs and contribute to the development of Quebec’s young innovative companies.”

Mr. André Forest, Vice President of operations for Anges Québec, who is responsible for the receipt of investment projects adds: “Since the beginning of Anges Québec, we have received more than 500 investment project proposals. Thanks to the involvement of Angel investors like Magaly, more of these promising Québec companies like Anomalous Networks will find the financial partners they need to ensure their future success.”

Anges Québec exists thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export of Québec (MDEIE) as well as its counsel Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt Office, RBC Royal Bank, accounting firm Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, cabinet IP Smart & Biggar and associated member ID capital, Investments Propulsion, iNovia Capital Partners and Desjardins Venture Capital.
