Secure Exchanges closes first funding round with Anges Québec
Montreal, March 12, 2018 – Quebec-based IT startup Secure Exchanges recently closed its first funding round with Anges Québec. Based in Drummondville, Secure Exchanges builds a technology which ensures safe email trading from start to finish.
More than 360 billion emails are exchanged throughout the world every day (spam excluded). A vast majority of them contain confidential information.
“Secure Exchanges’ technology solves a major security problem for organizations while minimizing the impact on its users’ workload, which is greatly innovative. The upcoming European law on cybersecurity, which should come into effect in May, makes this a relevant news topic” adds Patrick d’Astous, PhD and lead investor.
The technology, currently in the patent registration process, ensures the security of an email without the use of a third-party application. Easily integrated to conventional email servers, the adoption of stricter corporate security norms is non-invasive for users.
“This funding round will allow us to accelerate the commercialization of our solution to medium and large businesses of the insurance, legal and accounting sectors, while recruiting the right resources to complete our proof of concept for the financial sector” concludes Cédric Boivin, founder and CEO of Secure Exchanges.
