Anges Québec announces the appointments of Manon Desmarais and Caroline Pelletier

Montreal, July 11, 2016 – Anges Québec is extremely proud to announce today that two of its team members are taking up new appointments within the organization.

Manon Desmarais, previously vice president, project selection and investment support, has been named vice president, portfolio company relations. In this role she will support the angels, but with a special focus on the post-investment phase, to extend and improve the quality of the support offered by the organization.

Caroline Pelletier, formerly director of development, communications, and professional development, will move into Ms. Desmarais’s previous position, where she will be in charge of selecting the companies presented to members as investment opportunities. She will also be responsible for investment support, i.e., for coordinating the investment process from the negotiation of the term sheet to the due diligence process.

Manon Desmarais holds an executive MBA from Université de Sherbrooke and has been involved in finance for hi-tech companies for more than 15 years. She is a member of the Rémi-Marcoux Entrepreneurial Track Advisory Board and of the National Bank–HEC Montréal Institute for Entrepreneurship. In addition she has taught international project financing as a lecturer at ETS. Ms. Desmarais sits on the Board of Directors of the PME MTL Centre-ville economic development agency. Recognized for her enthusiasm, integrity, and vast experience, she has helped hundreds of Canadian businesses boost and manage their growth both nationally and internationally.

Caroline Pelletier draws on ten years of experience in media, communications, and web, having served as director of web content and production at the Yellow Pages Group and as account director at Nurun and BBDO Proximity. She was also a partner at Remarquable Communications until the company was sold in 2013. Since 2010 Ms. Pelletier has been involved in the Anges Québec Network as an investor and collaborator, managing relations with the community of entrepreneurs and market participants. She also manages the organization’s communications and its Professional Development Centre.

According to François Gilbert, president and CEO of Anges Québec, the internal appointment of members of its current team is an indication of the organization’s vitality. “At Anges Québec, we bring together professionals who are involved, enthusiastic, and ambitious. When these individuals demonstrate initiative and dedication, it is only natural that they should be offered the opportunity to advance within the company. I wish them every success in their new roles.”
