Marc-Antoine Cantin earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from McGill University in 1996. He began his career as an external auditor at Ernst & Young in Montreal. At the same time, he completed graduate studies in accounting at Concordia University. He obtained his chartered accountant (CA, CPA) designation in 1998. In 1999, he and his brother acquired SBI - Fabricant de poêles international inc., a small stove and fireplace manufacturing company located in Saint-Augustin, in the Quebec City area. Over the years, SBI has made numerous acquisitions and now has more than 300 employees. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of stoves and fireplaces in North America. It exports to a dozen countries and has operations in the United States and Australia. Mr. Cantin is passionate about entrepreneurship and is an active member of Anges Québec. He is a graduate of the ICD - Rotman School of Management's Directors Education Program and a member of the Quebec Order of Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA). Mr. Cantin sits on the boards of several SMEs in a variety of sectors.
