Marc-Antoine Cantin obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in 1996. He started his career in auditing at the firm Ernst & Young in Montreal. In parallel, he completed a degree in accountancy at Concordia University and obtained his CA, CPA designation in 1998. In 1999, Mr. Cantin and his brother acquired SBI – Stove Builder International inc., a small, distressed fireplace manufacturer located in Saint-Augustin, near Quebec City. They quickly turned the company around. Over the years, SBI has acquired multiple competitors. The business now has more than 300 employees and is a North American leader in the fireplace industry. SBI exports to more than 10 countries and has operations in the USA and Australia. Mr. Cantin is passionate for entrepreneurship and is an active member of Anges Quebec. He is a graduate of the ICD - Rotman School of Management’s Directors Education Program and is also a member of the Quebec Order of Chartered Professional Accountants. Mr. Cantin sits on the board of directors of various SMBs operating in diverse fields.
