Louis-Nicolas Hamer has worked for more than 15 years in wireless and software products for telecommunications, security, and facility automation, and has brought many innovative products to market. As an experienced entrepreneur, he contributes his expertise to promising startups as an angel investor and member of Anges Quebec.
Mr. Hamer is currently vice-president at Soljit, a company that specializes in today’s growth enabling technologies: Salesforce CRM, mobile apps and cloud implementation. Mr. Hamer’s previous success and business was SCL Elements established in 2010. He and his associates led the development and commercialization of SCL’s CAN2GO line of multi-protocol wireless and wired controllers for building automation and monitoring. SCL Elements was sold to French multinational Schneider Electric in 2012. Post-acquisition, Mr. Hamer held global business development and solution positions at Schneider Electric until early 2015.
Before joining SCL Elements in 2010, Mr. Hamer co-founded Eco2Max, an engineering firm specializing in energy efficiency and building automation. There, he assisted numerous organizations with energy audits and the implementation of efficiency measures such as lighting and HVAC system upgrades. Prior to founding his own company, he held R&D and product management positions at Nortel and at Verint, where he supervised the product life-cycle of several major products.
Mr. Hamer is a professional engineer and an accredited LEED professional. He is the author of two United States patents and a contributor to numerous 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) and Internet standards (IETF). He currently sits on the Board of the EnOcean Alliance as Chairman of the marketing working group.
Mr. Hamer holds a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada. Based in Montreal, Canada, he spends his free time coaching and playing sports, as well as volunteering for the MS Society of Canada.
