Alain Dubé

Alain is Managing Director of CCFL Partners, a specialized finance boutique providing strategic financial services to small and mid-sized private and public companies. He is also Managing 

Director at CCFL Capital, an Exempt Market Dealer, which provides fund raising services. Before, he worked as a corporate finance advisor for the Czech, Slovak and Hungarian Governments, as an operator for Telenor in Central Europe and Shiva/Mernet in Canada, and as CFO for TIW in Brazil, Cable Satisfaction and Walter in Europe and the Americas. 

Alain holds a B.Com. and a Graduate Degree in Accounting from McGill.  He is also a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Business Valuator.  He is fully bilingual in French and English and has some knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese. He is familiar with all aspects of concluding successful financing, restructuring and M&A activities for businesses.  He is also known to diagnose problems, identity opportunities and implement strategies in turnaround or growth situations successfully.

During the last years, early stage private and public companies that CCFL Capital advised, raised more than $15M in equity.

During his years in Europe as a partner with Deloitte & Touche, Alain co-lead a team of advisors and accountants to oversee the privatisation of more than 100 companies in the Czech Republic.  Furthermore, the team provided advisory assistance for the financial reorganization of the major industries in the country.  Subsequently, Alain also acted as Reporting Accountant for the privatisation of the Hungarian electrical system.

Over a period of three years as CFO of Cable Satisfaction International, Alain participated in raising more than $500 million of equity, high yield and debt.  During the following few years, he completed the acquisition and the sale of Shiva Corporation for his account and on behalf of a group of private equity investors.  He also assisted a client in completing a transaction with a Junior Capital Pool and raising additional capital simultaneously as interim CFO.  He has also investigated various investment opportunities on behalf of private equity investors.

Prior to launching CCFL Partners/Capital, Alain served as CFO for the operating companies of Walter Surface Technologies (“WST”), a private company.  WST operates in 8 countries in the Americas and Europe with sales exceeding $100M.

Alain’s experiences in reorganization, due diligence fund raising and M&A transactions combined with the operational experience acquired over the years, together with his integrity and professional competence, insure a significant contribution in all the projects that he participates.
