Membership Criteria


Being Personally Involved

Being a member of Anges Québec means investing one’s capital but also being personally involved; all of our members contribute their business expertise, their network and their time. Our members are interest in contributing by bringing an added value to the companies in which they invest. We also count on their collaboration to analyze opportunities and participate in the due diligence process.

Adhering to a Code of Ethics

Because our entrepreneurs share confidential information with us, all of our members sign a code of ethics that aims to protect confidentiality. This code of ethics also specifies the rules of conduct to empty to avoid any conflicts of interest.

Qualifying as an Accredited Investor

All of our members are accredited investors, according to the definition set out by the Autorité des marchés financiers.  The criteria are the following:

  • An individual who, either alone or with a spouse, beneficially owns financial assets having a value that before taxes, but net of any related liabilities, exceeds $1,000,000; or
  • An individual whose net income before taxes exceeded $200,000 in each of the 2 most recent calendar years or whose net income before taxes combined with that of a spouse exceeded $300,000 in each of the 2 most recent calendar years and who, in either case, reasonably expects to exceed that net income level in the current calendar year; or
  • An individual who, either alone or with a spouse, has net assets of at least $5,000,000.
