Kathleen Ngassam obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from McGill University in 1993. In addition, at the start of her career in engineering, she subsequently obtained a graduate diploma in project management from École Polytechnique de Montréal, followed by an MBA from Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal. Looking more to combine active commercial practice with academic knowledge, she is currently completing a PhD program in business administration at the University of Liverpool (United Kingdom).
Kathleen spent the first 17 years of her professional career in the pharmaceutical industry with companies such as Abbott, DSM Biologics and Pfizer. During this period, she has had the opportunity to work and acquire significant experience in various fields of the business, including manufacturing, quality control, product development, project management, government affairs and marketing. In 2011, Kathleen met the challenge of changing both the industries and the size of the companies by joining Solumet, a fast-growing company that recycles and markets metal projects, as project manager. An active member of Anges Québec since 2016, she also sits on the board of directors of two Anges Québec portfolio companies.
